The rights of men and female in the workplace are protected by the government (Canas and Sondak, 2014). Women and men should be treated with dignity and be respected the same. However, there are some circumstances when an organization is allowed to discriminate against women. One case is if the nature of the job requires a specific gender to do the role. Hardcore jobs require physical strength and the conditions of the position can be extreme.
An organization known for its mismanagement of diversity can regain public trust regarding their value of difference by making sure there is no discrimination in the business by creating policies on discrimination. Also, the organization should have events that support all kinds of cultures, for example, the month of October should be celebrated for Hispanic heritage month. Teams should be distributed by all sorts of cultures and not just one type for each group.
Society does need to rethink the traditional notion of retirement because people who retire go back to work to get extra money. If the individual still has the physical strength and mental ability to perform still task services should be extended. An older candidate can help the organization keep a workforce in full force (Canas and Sondak, 2014). (WC 208)
