The Piper Cherokee (a light, single-engine general aviationaircraft) has a wing area of 150 ft2 and a wing span of32 feet. Its maximum gross weight is 2,250 lb. The wing uses a NACA65-415 airfoil, with a lift slope of 0.1033 degree-1 andalpha(L=0) = -3deg. Assume tau = 0.12. If the airplane is cruisingat 100 mi/h at standard sea level at its maximum gross weight and is in straight and level flight, calculate the geometric angle ofattack at the wing.
