Major crimes such as rape and homicide

Under some state laws, a state collects DNA samples from people who have been convicted of major crimes, such as rape and homicide. Prosecutors can also get a court order to take blood and DNA samples if they have probable cause to target an individual in an investigation. One question still outstanding is whether or not police should be allowed to take DNA samples from anyone they arrest.

This paper will explore that question. You will provide three sections:

1. Police should be allowed to take DNA samples from anyone they arrest
2. Police should not be allowed to take DNA samples from anyone they arrest
3. Conclusion

In the first two sections you will provide reasons for allowing or not allowing taking of DNA. These should be backed up by references, including some case law (state or Federal) that talks about the subject. The third section will be your conclusion and the reasoning behind why you chose either to allow or disallow taking DNA.

This should be a high level overview of the question. If you cite case law as a reference, simply state the case and what the result was. You do not have to go into the details of the particular case. Same thing with other citations; give a synopsis of what the reference is discussing.

Requirements:

I do not have a minimum page count for this, although I would assume it should not take any more than five pages (2 for section 1, 2 for section 2, and 1 for your conclusion). You must include a title page and a reference page (WIKI is not an acceptable reference), and the paper must adhere to APA guidelines as to font, paragraph construction, and citing of references.
