Kris and Kurt are twins. You are interviewing them together. You drop a paperclip on the floor while talking to them. You immediately leave the room. You return about 5 minutes later and ask if either of them remember what happened just before you left the room. Neither of them can remember. Then you drop the paper clip 20 times in a row with both men watching. Again you leave the room, wait 5 minutes and return. 

  • When you ask Kurt what happened just before you left the second time he says you dropped a stupid paper clip 20 times. 
  • Kris cant remember this, in fact he doesn't remember meeting you in the first place.  
  • What is the cause of the memory lapse the first time for Kurt and both times for Kris?
