Dear Don:

I had a telephone conference this morning regarding the insurance claim for your unit. We discussed your concerns surrounding the quality of the replacement kitchen cabinets available at Millers Home Surplus for the $2,900 allowance that the insurance company is willing to pay to replace your damaged cabinets. We trust that the facts presented in this letter will allay your concerns and that you will appreciate that the $2,900 does allow replacement kitchen cabinets of equal or greater quality to the existing.

1. Please know that we successfully negotiated with the insurance company on this issue as their initial kitchen cabinet offer was $1,500 and it is now $2,900.

2. The existing kitchen cabinets in your unit we purchased from Millers Home Surplus and cost approximately $900.

3. Both the owner and the manager of Millers Home surplus assured that the $2,900 allowance will allow for kitchen cabinets of equal or greater quality to the existing.

4. The owner of Millers Home Surplus says that the kitchen cabinets you would like for approximately $3,850 are a significant upgrade form the existing. Not only are they a higher quality cabinet but they also add features like crown moldings that your existing cabinets do not have.

We hope that you will reconsider the available selections at Millers Home Surplus for $2,900 or that you will pay the difference if you prefer an upgrade. We appreciate that the past couple of months have been difficult. We will do our best to complete this project timely and with good workmanship.
