As project manager you will be responsible for all aspects of this project. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the inspection system that is used in one of the major semi-conductor manufacturing processes at your local San Antonio facility.
The new SCID4 will be more accurate and more reliable than the inspection system that is currently used. Based on previous experience, there are two local firms that are qualified to fabricate the SCID4 to meet the requirements that will be provided in the SCID4 system specification.
In order to complete this project, your team will need to define the specific requirements for the SCID4 and contract with one of the local firms to fabricate the inspection unit.
You will then need to integrate this unit into your manufacturing operation and perform testing to ensure that inspection unit is performing to specification.
Finally, you will need to train operators to use and maintain the new system. The following evaluation criteria will be used to evaluate all project plans.
