Modern Trend in Human Management:- An Active look at the Challenges Faced by Expatriates in Nigeria
Introduction
Managers as well as multi-national organizations face expatriation process challenges when a manager from individual culture engages in interacting with employees external to his or hr home nation. According to Litterel et al, (2006), expatriates are defined as those individuals who indulge in relocating from one nation to another for a year at the least (Hite, 2014) (Ekta, 2011). Management of expatriate is needed when local management of skilled nature experience shortage when organizations wish broadening particular experience of managers through provision of new ventures when entering newer regions. According to Edstrom et al, (1977), 3 general motives have been identified to make such kinds of transfer possible effectively inclusive of filling positions, development of management and development in organization (Hite, 2014) (Ekta, 2011). Under the competitive global environment, it is essential to stimulate organization by effective management of human resources. The expatriate manager's working life is inclusive of several challenges involved within being caught between headquarters contradictory demands and host country nationals demand as well as other local circumstance. This literature review has been prepared by critically evaluating the essence of literature over the challenges that expatriates have faced in Nigeria and across its industries.
