A car manufacturing company has implemented a goal-setting strategy within the organizational teams. The goal-setting program brought forward encouragement and reminders by all team leads to their respective teams. The message to the team was to work the best they can and do their best. Senior Management compensated team leaders who repeatedly pushed employees to complete difficult and tight deadlines. After a 12 month period after the goal-setting strategy has been implemented, the car manufacturing company didn’t see much significance or improvement in employees job performance.
