Decision making is a process of selecting the best choice among the different alternatives. Before making decisions all options should be evaluated from which advantages and disadvantages are known. It helps to make the best decisions. It is also one of the important functions of management. Decision making drives managements’ decisions for further functions such as planning, organizing, directing, controlling and staffing for future needs of the organization.

We also use our decision-making skills in our personal lives. Let’s say you need a new car. Use your actual life (i.e. are you married, have kids, any big purchases you need to make to take care of your family).

How do you arrive at the decision to purchase a new car?
