In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. We are born with innate abilities. A person with a "fixed mindset" may say something like "I am just not a good student." They also believe that talent alone creates success-without effort. They're wrong.
When students and educators have a growth mindset, they understand that intelligence can be developed. Students focus on improvement instead of worrying about how smart they are. They work hard to learn more and get smarter. A person with a growth mindset would say something like, "I'm not a good student...YET!"
So, based on growth mindset, even if you are not a "good student", you CAN BE!
