Analyze the following circuit using PSpice. It is suggested that the transistor model of "QbreakN-X NPN" be used. You may have to edit some parameters of the model, such as β and VBE (on).

Let VBE(on)= 0.7 V and β = 1 xy (xy are the last two digits of your student ID, so the value of β is in the range of 100-199).

Calculate IB and IE for 0 <VBB<VBB(max). VBB(max) can be arbitrarily set but the transistor must be in the saturation mode at VBB(max).

You are required to turn in a brief report (no more than 4 pages) which includes:

1. PSpice model file

2. The schematic of the circuit you build for your simulation

3. Three plots:

  • IB vs. VBB
  • Ic VS. VBB
  • The ratio of Ic/IB vs. VBB

4. Find the value of VBB at the transition between the forward active mode and saturation mode.
