Well away from the fence the strength of the field is E 0 . By considering the effect of the transformation w = (1 - z 2 ) 1 / 2 on the real and imaginary z -axes, find the strengths of the field

(a) at a point one meter directly above the fence,

(b) at ground level one meter to the side of the fence, and

(c) at a point that is level with the top of the fence but one meter to the side of it. What is the direction of the field in case (c)?
