Assume that a gallon of gas contains 114,000 BTUs of energy and that a brilliant engineer has created an 80 percent efficient solar cell. Find the area (in square smoots and in square feet) that an array of these solar cells would need to power the average car (3 gallons of gas per hour). Use 1.361 as the value for the solar constant. You will need to google "solar constant" to obtain the correct units.
