If there are two point along the x-axis, positive q to the right and -q to the left of the orgin. Both with the distance a/2 from the orgin, with the point P between the two charges but closer to the positive charge. Find

(a) the potential at that point,

(b) find the electric field at that point using the fact that the electric field is the negative derivative of the potential, and

(c) Find the electric field at that point without using derivatives.

(d) Compare your answers from b. and c.
