This forum will focus on theme and meaning! Theme in literature is the idea that holds the story together, such as a comment about society, human nature, or the human condition. It is the main idea or central meaning of a piece of writing.
For your initial post, consider the contemporary themes represented in this story, particularly the issues facing the female characters! Are these themes uniquely contemporary or more universal in nature? Do they transcend time and place or are they particular to region and culture? In your post, make specific references to the story's characters and scenes.
