Understanding the new hazards associated with terrorism will be critical to reducing the fear among the public of these hazards. This was done very successfully in the past in understanding and dispelling the fear surrounding traditional hazards. How would you design and implement a public education campaign concerning the new hazards? What information would you present and how?
The fear of the unknown can paralyze a nation. During early parts of the Cold War in the 1950s and 1960s, the government successfully implemented a national education program to help citizens understand what they should do if America was attacked with nuclear weapons. Today we have new threats associated with a variety of terrorism hazards.
Explain the effects of the new hazards associated with terrorism and the role education can play in reducing the public's fear of these hazards.
Design and explain the implementation of a public education campaign concerning the various terrorism hazards.
