A cloud bank moving across the ocean at an altitude of 2000m encounters a coastal mountain range. As it rises to height of 3500m to pass over the mountains, it undergoes an adiabatic expansion. ( Air is a poor heat conductor.) The pressure at 2000 and 3500m is 0.802atm and 0.602atm, respectively. If the initial temperature of the cloud is 288K, what is the cloud temperature as it passes over the mountains? ( Do you expect rain or snow) Assume Cp= 28.86jk^-1 for air. Clearly state assumptions.
