Examples using the conflict perspective

Discuss how each of the following influence the socialization process in children: family, peers, and the media.

Provide at least one example for each (family, peers, media) from your own life experience.

Discuss at least one of the examples using the Conflict perspective. (If you believe that the conflict perspective does not provide the right analytical "tools" to do this, that is fine. Explain why conflict theory is inadequate in that instance. You'll learn more about the perspectives this way, believe me.)

Finish by discussing how society can influence future generations in a positive way by being aware of the socialization process and making overt efforts to guard against undesirable behavior (this is subjective, obviously).
