Colin is getting ready to come to college on a Monday morning and is running late. He is about to leave the house when remembers that he has left his mobile phone up-stairs in the bedroom. He walks up-stairs, on the way up he meets his wife who asks him if he can remember the number for the plumber. Colin thinks about it but cannot recall the number. When Colin reaches the bedroom he cannot remember what he came up for.

a) Using at least two (2) theories of Forgetting, discuss why Colin has forgotten what he went up-stairs for

b) Compare two (2) theories of forgetting that you have discussed above ensuring that you include at least 2 similarities and 2 differences

c) Suggest how Colin's memory might be improved using at least two (2) mnemonic techniques with reference to examples and evidence
