The Task
For this task, you will be required to conduct research on your chosen topic from those given below and to work as a group to present your findings. You will then be required to submit your own individual essay.
Please select one of the following research tasks:
- Provide an outline of trading in illegal drugs and/or arms and evaluate attempts to control it.
- Provide an outline of human trafficking and evaluate attempts to control it.
- Provide an outline of cybercrime and evaluate attempts to control it.

The Essay
You will write an individual essay. Although there will be similarities between your own essay and that of other members of your group, the essay should be all your own work and should be properly referenced using Harvard Referencing. It should be word processed on a Microsoft Word document using double line spacing and Arial font size 12.
What to include in your essay -

1. A description/definition of the problem - explain what is meant by illegal drugs/arms, or human trafficking or cybercrime
2. How much the trade is worth - include some statistics to show the value of the trade
3. How many people are directly affected by the trade - include statistics to show how many people are affected by the trade
4. What the negative effects of the trade are - you will need evidence of how people are affected; this could be consequences to peoples' health, changes in social behaviour, or the use of profits to fund other crime
5. What attempts have been made to control the trade - explain who is involved in trying to tackle the crime and what they have done to try to control it
6. How effective these attempts to control the trade have been -what has worked/not worked? Why have there been successes/failures?CONCLUSION - a summary of the main points of your research.
