A food storage chamber requires a refrigeration system of 15-ton capacity operating at an evaporator temperature of -8Â°C and a condenser temperature of 30Â°C. Refrigerant ammonia (R-717) is used and the system operates at saturated conditions. Determine:

(a) C.O.P.

(b) Refrigerant flow rate

Repeat problem, with the refrigerant subcooled by 5Â°C before entering the expansion valve, and the vapor superheated by 6Â°C.
