Question: Vinblastine is a pharmaceutical used to treat several cancers, such as lung and breast cancer and Hodgkin's lymphoma. It binds tubulin, a protein found in microtubules of the cytoskeleton, and prevents the proper formation of the mitotic spindle and the kinetochore. Cancer cell reproduce very rapidly, the drug is used to inhibit cell division in the cancer cells.

Considering this mechanism of action, do you predict that vinblastine would be an effective drug to treat a bacterial infection, since bacteria also reproduce rapidly? Provide a brief rationale for your prediction.
