Here is a discussion board question: Do you support the use of back braces as a measure to prevent back injuries in the workplace? Why or why not? Be sure to provide evidence to support your position. put your answer please. # Thenrespond in a substantial manner to your classmates posts for a total of 3 postings and here are the classmates postes you have to respond to them please: 1-Back brace's as stated in the article have not had enough studies to provide whether they help or hurt the person wearing them. But the simple idea that someone could put one on and have a spine that can take any weight is very incorrect. If you give an employee a back brace some employees may think that they can lift twice as much or more and this simply isn't correct; our spine holds our body up and can take a lot of stress, but a simple belt will not give you magical new and perfect back. Back Brace can easy cause more harm than they can help, the best way to prevent back injuries is to design more ergonomic working condition's for our employees to try and prevent back related injuries. 2-I believe back braces can be used to prevent injuries when lifting large amounts of weight at one time. As for senior citizens wearing back braces all the time, it gives the user a false sense of security. Even with the back brace injuries can still occur. Many of these people consider the back brace as a replacement spine. This puts the user into danger because they are more prone to doing more where the back can be injured. Overall, back braces aren't much help. 3-I do not believe that a back brace should be considered as a control method to prevent back injuries, it is not likely that they can give the support to reduce repeated stresses on a person back over time. I believe that resting properly and avoiding heavy objects without assistance would be more effective. I believe that the back brace can offer relief to a back that is already feeling pain from previous stress, but the support a back brace offers is not that great, it is not the Iron Man suit. I believe measures should be prevention beyond any doubt, not gambling with the odds of someones back brace being extremely effective every time they wear it. Also, the support the brace offers can caus muscle in the lower lombard region to weaken over long periods of time.
