B) Outline your own style of influencing change and provide an illustrative specific example where you implemented change, for example in a sports / youth club, at work, at home, at university etc..

For this task you will need to read Chapter 3 of Jabri, M. (2012) Managing Organizational Change. Basingstoke: Palgrave Macmillan. This exercise is designed to enable you to consider your own experience as a change agent using academic theory.
Also, we would expect you to refer to the professional standards in change management, as discussed in week 6 in the lecture (see ACMP (2014) Standard for change management) and / or the report / guidance issued by the CIPD (see week 9).

Telling a story of change as a company leader
Read the case study Kitchenware company on Moodle. You are Dennis, and you need to talk to all staff at a staff assembly outlining the need for change and how the company should develop. You can choose the point in time place in the company development this meeting takes place.
Create a 450-word story of change.
We would like you to spend approximately another 300 words critically discussing the relevance of story telling for change management and critically evaluate this story in the context of story telling (as discussed in class and in the academic literature)and justify your choicesmade .
For example, discuss:
• Why have you included certain content and how?
• What is the effect you are trying to achieve?

Portfolio Question 3
Change management and CSR are strategic processes in small and large company that are rarely linked to each other. However, introducing CSR to a company in an organised strategic manner is a form of change management, often named in the context of transformational change.
For a company of your choice of one of the suggested case study companies of the course, imagine you are put in charge of introducing CSR to the company as a whole. Keep it simple! What CSR activities would you suggest and for what purpose? Choose one of the following purposes:
• CSR to reach out to new target customers to improve sales
• CSR to engage with the local communities and develop them.
Ensure that the one chosen purpose is well reflected in your answer in everything you write. Then critically discuss and suggest a change management plan to introduce CSR.

Gathering information for a change project
You are an external consultant brought into the x company to start them off on their social media marketing strategy. They have never used social media for the business before. Company X has 48 employees, of which one staff member deals with marketing, supported by an apprentice.
• What would you do first? Why?
• What theory would inform your planning? (dialogical or diagnostic or another one?and why)
• What information would you need?
• How would you collect it and whywould you selected particular methods?

Portfolio Question 5
Critically assess the CSR / sustainability reporting of a chosen large multinational company. You can choose one of the global award winners and or a large multinational corporate such as AmeyPlc or Interserve. The analysis has to focus on large corporates and not a SME.

Ensure you apply theory regarding CSR (not only sources used in this module) in your critical evaluation. Comment on the reporting standard(s) they use and how sustainability and CSR is positioned within the business model and core activities. Is CSR used for changing purchasing practices or any other business processes?
