Applications of Operational Psychology

The foremost mission of an individual working in the field of operational psychology is to support the mission of the organization. If supporting the government, the individual working in the field of operational psychology must consider how his or her actions impact and support the government's mission.

Nonclinical support refers to supporting a mission by applying the tenets of psychology for mission planning and success rather than supporting the mental health of its personnel. As the goals and objectives of our government and the military change, the psychological operations related to them should also change.

Tasks:

Using the module's readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research applications of operational psychology, either within the military or in a civilian national security setting.

Then, in a minimum of 300 words, respond to the following:

Discuss how you see the mission of an individual working in the field of operational psychology expanding in the future. In addition to your perspective, include any relevant literature or sources providing additional perspectives on this exciting field's future. Support your response with appropriate reasons. Be sure to cite any relevant resources.

Apply American Psychological Association (APA) standards to cite sources.
