The data set Toxemia contains information for a sample of 100 infants born in two hospitals in Boston. Indicators of a maternal diagnosis of toxemia during the pregnancy, a condition characterized by high blood pressure and other potential complications, are saved under the variable name tox (1: toxemia; 0: no Toxemia). It is believed that age of the mothers during pregnancy, gender of the babies (0: girl; 1:boy); and Toxemia during pregnancy affect the weight of the babies at birth.
Analyze the data by answering the following questions.
1. Estimate the proportion of infants whose mothers experienced toxemia during pregnancy. Use 95% confidence level.
2. Doctors think that more than 20% of the infants their mothers experienced toxemia. Is that correct?
3. Doctors think that the infants of mothers experienced toxemia weigh less than the infants of mothers not experienced toxemia. Is that correct?
4. Test if the proportion of girls' mothers with toxemia is different from the proportion of boys's mothers.
5. Test the effect of "toxemia" and "the gender of the baby" on the weights of the babies.
6. Write a report containing your findings
The sample yielded a mean content of 11.88 ounces, with a standard deviation of 0.24 ounces. Use a 0.05 level of significance and test to see if the machine is in perfect adjustment (perform all six steps of hypothesis testing, including p-values)..
At the .05 significance level, can she conclude that there is a difference in the mean amount of weight loss among the three diets?
Let X be a normal distributed random Variable with u=100 and o=10. the probability that X is between 70 and 100 is:
Find the critical value and test statistic value follows normal distribution.
Solve manually and then by mega stat. Indicate your decision rule, your hypotheses and your statistical and management conclusions."
In a marketing study, 100 consumers were asked to select the best digital music player from the iPod, the iRiver, and the Magic Star MP3. To summarize the consumer responses with a frequency table, how many classes would the frequency table have?
At 0.01 level of significance, is there evidence that mean price is higher at Whole Foods Market than at Fairyway supermarket? Interpret the meaning of p-value in (i).
Population standard deviation of 150. If you take a random sample of n = 8 students, what is the probability that the sample mean will be more than 760?
Write the hypothesis statement. What distribution are you using?
When trucks arrive at the Ambassador Bridge, each truck must be checked by customs agents. The times are exponentially distributed with a service rate of 10 per hour. What is the probability that a truck requires more than 15 minutes to be checked..
Their mean monthly sales were $10,000 with a standard deviation of $1000. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the population mean.
