A Hall effect probe to measure magnetic field strengths needs to be calibrated in a known magnetic field. Magnetic fields can be very precisely measured by measuring the cyclotron frequency of protons. A testing laboratory adjusts the magnetic field until the proton's cyclotron frequency is 10.0 MHz. At this field strength, the Hall voltage on the probe is 0.543 mV when the current through the probe is 0.15 mA. Later, when an unknown magnetic field is measured, the Hall voltage for the same current is 1.735 mV. What is the strength of the latter magnetic field.
An uncharged capacitor and resistor are connected in series with a 12V source and switch. What is the voltage across the capacitor after the switch is closed and the capacitor is fully charged
Model the line as an infinite filament of current under dc conditions. Calculate the magnetic field intensity in amperes/meter at the top of the head of a man who is 2 meters tall. Assume the man is standing on the ground directly underneath the l..
Phosphorus atoms, at a concentration of 5*10^16 cm^-3, are added to a pure sample of intrinsic silicon. Assume the phosphorus atoms are distributed homogeneously throughout the silicon sample. What is the fraction by weight of phosphorus
The system operates properly when exactly one of the sensors has its output equal to 1. An alarm must be raised when two or more sensors have the output equals to 1. Design the simplest circuit that can be used to raise the alarm. Give the cost of..
Graded-index separate confinement double heterostructure (GRIN-SCH) InGaAs/GaAs lasers with various cavity lengths were tested in the lab. The 100m wide oxide strip lasers consists of two pairs of 10nm In0.2Ga0.8As quantum-well (QW).
Two coupled coils have self-inductances L1 = 50 mH and L2 = 200 mH, and a coefficient of coupling k = 0.5. If coil 2 has 1000 turns, and I1 = 5Sin (400t) (i.e. the phasor current is 5? -90° A). Find the voltage at coil 2 and the flux through coil ..
