Gene of unknown function in the mouse genome was investigated with reverse genetic approach Knock out mouse was created was missing particular gene When phenotype of investigated mouse was compared the only difference from the wild-type was mouse kicking other mouse And I know the protein encoded was named KST So my question is what are the some of aspects of the KST protien that could be investigated in order to better understanding the biology ? USing RNA, Proteiomics or DNA?

Biology Questions & Answers

What is another use for ion gradients

The ion gradients maintained across the plasma membranes of most cells play a significant role in cellular energetics. Ion gradients are often either generated by the hydrolysis of ATP or used to make ATP by the phosphorylation of ADP.

What is the phenotypic ratio expected from a seed parent

A dominant gene (+) produces yellow flowers in a certain plant species and its recessive allele (w) produces white flowers.

What is the maximum number of molecules of atp

What is the maximum number of molecules of ATP that can be generated by a bacterium after the complete aerobic oxidation of a triglyceride containing three 12 carbon chains. Assume that all the available energy released during catabolism goes to A..

What fraction of total dna the target sequence constitute

The genome of virus SV40 is a circular double-stranded DNA molecule 5 kb long. A 1 kb region is amplified by PCR for four cycles. What fraction of total DNA does the target sequence constitute.

Why is eating lower on the food chain

Why is eating "lower on the food chain" - in other words eating plants instead of animals - more efficient? Why is energy transfer along the food chain inefficient. Explain. Give examples.

What is the function of each of these 3 molecules

What is the function of each of these 3 molecules you have identified in the human body? Explain why each of these 3 molecules must have its specific types of bonds in order to perform that molecule's function.

Show the genotype and phenotype of the f1 progeny

How many genes are there? How many alleles does each gene have? What type of gene interaction does the ratio in the Ftwo indicate?

How systolic blood pressure changes over time untreated

The objective of the study is to assess how systolic blood pressure changes over time untreated. Systolic blood pressures are measured at baseline and again 4 weeks later Is there a statistically significant difference in blood pressures over time..

  Surface renewal theory

Surface renewal theory predicts that the mass transfer coefficient is directly proportional to the square root of the molecular diffusivity.

  Determine the phenotypic proportions

Coat colors of dogs depend upon the action of at least two genes. At one locus a dominant epistatic inhibitor of coat color pigment (I-) prevents the expression of color alleles at another independently assorting locus.

How the model explains competitive interaction

Offer a model to explain how the F-box protein SLF and the S-RNase mediate self incompatibility. Be sure to account for the action of these proteins in compatible and incompatible interactions.
