Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:
Describe the key characteristics of a whistleblower, and briefly summarize one (1) researched instance of whistleblowing in one (1) publicly traded company within the last 12 months. Include the details of the issue that the whistleblower reported and the effect of the whistleblower's actions on both the whistleblower himself and the company.
Decide whether or not the whistleblower was justified in reporting the company's actions. Provide a rationale for your response.
Examine the extent to which the whistleblower would be protected under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Justify your response.

Whistleblowing and Sarbanes-Oxley
Whistleblower is the person who discloses the events that are being hidden from the public or workers. Whistleblowing can be from within the organization where employees can severally be reporting irregularities and misconducts to the management or supervisor.
It can also be outside the organization where instead of employees reporting misconducts to the management they take them to the media or the government. Whistleblowing when for instance is done effectively within an organization it can be of great use.
This is because of the corrupt motives can be stopped, other behaviors can be stopped giving the company a good public image due to control of ethical behaviors within the employees.
The main character of a whistleblower employee includes being contended and honest. Most of the employees who are satisfied by what they get they will tend to report any wrong doing in the company. (“Whistle Blowing | Ethical Systems,” n.d.)
