Task 1 - Consider a round nozzle directing the water jet on the flat plate as per below picture. The water jet exerts force of 39 N on the flat plate. Assuming steady flow and neglecting frictions, determine the following:

a) The velocity at nozzle exit

b) The moss flow of water

c) The velocity at nozzle entrance

d) The manometer reading (mercury filled)

If D₁ is 11 cm and D₂ is 3 cm.

Apply the First Law of Thermodynamics to reversible non-flow processes

Task 2 - A cylinder filled with gas 6*, shown on the right side, having stop at height, h of 1.10 m and a frictionless piston with area A of 0.2 m², at initial state P1 = 301 kPa and T1 = 489^oC, is cooled down to 20^oC. Apply the First Law of Thermodynamics and analyse:
