A motor connected to a 220V(rms), 60Hz voltage source is marked as drawing a current of 13.5Amps(rms), with a power factorof 0.72 lagging and an efficiency of 83%. Suppose that the motor operates according to these specifications. Find a) the real powerabsorbed by the motor, b) the reactive power of the motor, e) theapparent power of the motor, d) the phasor current entering themotor, e) the effective impedance of the motor, f) the mechanical power at the output shaft of the motor, in HP, g) the value of acapacitor to put in parallel with the motor that will lead to anoverall power factor of 1.
