This question comes from a quiz made by our instructor. Asidefrom the text book we have, there are approximately 10 other bookswe are to reference, but I have not been able find help in any ofthem. Please help me. The question reads as follows:

You have measured total organic P and biomass P for 2 soils,one from a tilled soil , the other from a long-term, no-tillcropping system. For biomass determinations, you measured inorganicP (Pi) in a non-fumigated sample (a), a fumigated sample (b) and anonfumigated sample extracted with 0.5 M NaHCO3 containing KH2PO4to provide 15 micrograms Pi G soil^(-1) (c).

A. Determine the microbial biomass P for each soil.
B. Indicate which soil has been in cultivation and which hasbeen in continuous no-till for several years. Justify your answer.
