A panasonic model Rx-ft560 stero uses a 12V_dc powwer supply. At full volume ( max triple min-bass) A max current of 1.4 amps is needed from the power supply. at min volume, this drops to 200mA. (hint: calculate the range of R_L)

Design a full wave rectifir power supply using a 9.52:1 transformer. Assume that the outlet is 120V_rms at 60Hz further assume that the diode drop, V_d(on) is 1v

pick the value of C_L such that V_o has a maximum ripple of 1 Vp_p

Solve for the average value of V_o = V_o

(this may be greater than 12v) and I_d(avg)= I_d

B) Add a series resistor to the secondary to limit the maximum source current to 10 amp if the secondary winding resistance is 0.4 ohms .
