Prepare a preliminary design of a system to collect dust from a plant under the following conditions:
Sample of Dust: 50% by wt. below 30 micrometers; 80% by wt. below 70 micrometers
Density= 2.5 g/cubic cm
Gas Flow Rate: 30,000 acfm (actual cubic feet per minute) +- 5000
Particle Loading: 0.5 to 4 grains/cubic feet, avg=1.5 grains/cubic foot
Emission Limit: 1.5 lb/hr
Design a cyclone collection system which might meet the minimum limits. Provide a reasonable pressure drop through the cyclone (i.e., 8-10 in H2O)
