New Police Technology

Consider the following scenario: You are the Chief Executive of a major law enforcement agency. You have to decide what technology should be implemented in your department within the next five years. You can only afford one major new technology for your officers.

Choose one of the following technologies:

  • Non-lethal weaponry and training
  • Facial recognition software
  • Officer-worn cameras
  • Updates to your information and data-collecting technology
  • Thermal Imaging

Address the following:

  • Describe the technology, including its uses and its purpose.
  • Explain why you chose this technology, and explain the long-range benefits of this technology for your department?
  • Predict how this will help with law enforcement effectiveness in your department?

The paper must be 250-300 words in length and formatted according to APA style.
