The natural forces and surroundings of a living organism which mainly provide conditions for growth and development and also lead to cause damage. The organism surrounded by forces and materials constitute environment and it is responsible for creating favorable conditions for the development and existence of living organisms. The word environment is derived from French term environ which refers to surroundings.

Major Environmental issues: The environment is changing constantly and because of this reason there are problems associated with it which include natural disasters, cooling periods, global warming and also different types of problems associated with weather alterations. The warming up of our planet is a major concern and it is considered as major issue where people are facing new challenges and it affects ecosystem. The planet is completely poised with environmental crisis which makes environment vulnerable to tragedies and natural disasters. It is important to address problems with regard to environment and requires immediate attention. Some examples of environmental issues include global warming, verpopulation, pollution, depletion of natural resources, change in climatic conditions, biodiversity loss, Acidification of ocean, Depletion of ozone layer, deforestation, Urban sprawl, Acid rains, Water pollution, Health concerns with regard to public and Genetic Engineering.

Importance of Environmental Studies: The current era is completely industrialized which resulted in causing harmful activities to the pollution mainly include water, air and food pollution which got contaminated due the activities of industries. In order to reduce the problem it is important to know about the activities regarding environment and study in depth which allows helping in the following ways.
