How would you describe the culture of your organization?

In a traditional sense an organization’s culture consists of the values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that employees share and use on a daily basis in their work. As the President & Founder of All The Love (nonprofit organization) I do not have a staff. I have an advisory board in place because I am in the process of restructuring my organization and re-launching my website. However, positive attributes that I would like to incorporate as I restructure is an environment open to creativity, a fun place to work, results oriented and ultimately, a place where we care about each other’s wellbeing.

A characteristic of my organization that I value is my attention to detail (Precision Orientation). This characteristic of organizational culture dictates the degree to which employees are expected to be accurate in their work. A culture that places a high value on attention to detail expects their employees to perform their work with precision. A culture that places a low value on this characteristic does not.

What are the things that you can point to in your organization that contribute to your conclusion?

Everyone who serves on my advisory board is not connected to autism. In other words, advocating for autism awareness is not the reason they are currently serving on my board. What connects us is our love for humanity, philanthropy and a strong desire to make a difference. Ironically, most of the members of my advisory board are entrepreneurs and they specialize in an array of skills, such as; marketing, public relations, accounting and special events to name a few.

If you had the ability to change something, what would it be and why?

At this point in time, I can’t think of anything I would change because the members of my advisory board share a core set of values. For example, respect, fairness, trust and integrity. We also believe that teamwork makes the dream work!

My question is what advice or compliment would you give the person?
