Save a copy of the TAL Distributors database located within the Shared Files of the course. You will use this copy to create indexed fields in your database.

The current TAL Distributors database only has a few customers; however, in reality, such a database would likely have records for thousands or hundreds of thousands of customers and their order information. Describe how indexing fields could be beneficial to this database.

Which field(s) would gain the most benefit from being indexed without creating unnecessary tables that require additional storage space? Justify your answers.

Use Access or SQL to index the following fields:

In the Customer table, create an index for the CustomerNum field and the CustomerName field. CustomerNum should not allow duplicates; the CustomerName should also not allow duplicates.

In the Item Table, create an index for the Storehouse field that does allow duplicates.

In the Orders table, create an index for the OrderDate field that allows duplicates. Also create a multiple-field index using the OrderNum and CustomerNum fields. This index may also include duplicate values.
