Use specific technologies to demonstrate understanding of the characteristics of teaching in the digital age and implications for a teacher.
Provides opportunities, over a period of five weeks, to understand characteristics of the digital age and explore skills required of teachers, including the skills of:
• critical thinking,
• collaboration,
• creativity and
• problem-solving
Part 1
Mind map: Create a mind map using a mind mapping tool of your choice. Your mind map must focus on the characteristics of the digital age.
The mind map demonstrates keen conceptual understanding and the thoughtful categorisation of ideas.
Part 2
Write 450 words that builds on your mind map and addresses the question: What skills will I need as a teacher in order to teach effectively in the digital age? You will need to use first person for this task.
Key characteristics of the digital age are identified and challenges for teaching and learning are discussed through the use of relevant, concrete and astute examples.
