The theory of TQM is to create the concept of continuous improvement and quality improvement at the source. This concept makes the TQM function an integral component of the manufacturing process and allows for continual growth and the goal of identifying quality problems at their source of origin. Companies that employ this approach to quality will allow any operator on the production line to stop the line if they suspect a defect is in progress.
