The catalytic behavior of the isozymes of liver and brainphosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1) was observed in the presence of AMP,phosphate, and fructose-2,6-bisphosphate. The table below shows theconcentration of each effector required to achieve 50% of Vmax. Compare the response of the two isozymes to the three effectors anddiscuss the implications of their different responses.

Isozyme          Phosphate (µM)           AMP(µM)       F2,6P (µM)

Liver              200                 10                  0.05

Brain              350                 75                  4.5
