ASSIGNMENT

PART 1- A multistage amplifier with very large voltage gain is shown in Figure1. The two-stage amplifier uses swamped stages to stabilize the overall voltage gain.

1439_Figure.png

 1. Calculate the theoretical AC voltage gain of the first stage. The DC analysis should provide the operating point of Q1, Q2   and the collector, emitter and base voltages of transistors Q1 and Q2.

2. Calculate the theoretical AC voltage gain of the second stage.

3. Determine the overall theoretical AC voltage gain.

4. Calculate the circuit power dissipation with no signal (quiescent).

Simulate the preamp with a peak input signal of 10 mV using Multisim.

5. Compare thevoltage gain of each stage and the overall voltage gain against the analytical calculations.

PART 2-

1. Use NOR gates to implement the following expression

(X-Y- + XY-)(WZ + WZ-)

2. Simplified the aforementioned expression using Karnaugh maps

3. Simulate the AND-OR logic implementation of the simplified SOP expression.
