A simple relay has an air gap of length 1.0mm and effective cross-sectional area of 1000mm2. The magnetising coilconsists of 1000 turns of wire carrying current of 200mA. Calculate the energy stored in the air gap. The reluctance of the ferromagnetic part of the magnetic circuit may be neglected.
