The foundation soil for an earth dam has a horizontal hydraulic conductivity of 1.5 x 10-9 m/s and a vertical hydraulic conductivity of 1 x 10-10 m/s. It is proposed to estimate the seepage flow rate through the foundation soil using the flow net sketching technique. For this purpose, calculate the horizontal scale factor and effective hydraulic conductivity of the foundation soil.
