Requirements

You must submit a 2500 words individual report (approximately 5 pages of text, excluding figures and diagrams) clearly describing - using equations, diagrams, sketches and figures (as appropriate) - how you investigated, analysed, designed, implemented and tested the repeatable vehicle.

Your report should therefore include:

- A brief literature survey describing the devices you considered (e.g. motors, gearboxes, chassis materials), clearly indicating the sources of your reading and of the knowledge you used to make the necessary choices

- The criteria you used to select your chosen energy system (e.g. electrical battery), power system (e.g. electrical motor), mechanical means of measuring the required travel distance (e.g. tape, string, mechanical timer), the method used for detecting the target wall and its link to the vehicle successfully returning to its original position, as per the IMechE Challenge 2017 specifications

- Your calculations on the required power and gear ratios plus diagrams describing the vehicle design

- A list of the team members, how the team divided the various tasks, who carried out each task and how these tasks contributed to the overall goal (hint: a GANTT chart would be very helpful in this section)

- Test results

- Conclusions and reflections

- References (list of the sources of information you considered/used)
