First watch hotel employees discuss their career aspirations at the Bolero Hotel by clicking on the Video icon below. Then analyze each job description found on the computer screen in the employee break room. Conduct research using your textbook, various job websites, and the U.S. Department of Labor: Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook (2012-2013).

Checklist:

Examine the three career paths: Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager and Food Service Manager. Choose one character from the scenario Food Server, Bell Captain, or Security Guard and investigate their career path from their current job to the job they ultimately aspire to. Then in a Microsoft Word document, discuss which career path you chose and why.

Discuss what skills they would ideally have in their current position, what skills they still need to acquire and how they should go about acquiring them.

Then using the Microsoft SmartArt tool, make a process chart using arrows like the example, to show what jobs they should transition to starting with their current one.
