Over the course of the semester, team members will take turns "leading" the team discussion, analysis, synthesis and reflection. This will provide each of you the opportunity to experiment with taking different roles in your teams, and to see how different team members lead (perhaps differently) across different assignment challenges. Each of you will have at least two turns as a team discussion and reflection leader over the course of the semester.
Be specific about the words you use! It is very easy to casually toss about terms such as "innovation" or "leadership." The goal of the course is to develop greater appreciation and nuance for the micro-concepts and complex dynamics that comprise these umbrella terms. Higher grades will be received for those submissions demonstrating this mastery.
Reflections should be 1 1/2 spaced, 12 font, 1 inch margin, and have the Team ID (Name or number) and Reflection Number in the file name. They should be approximately 3-5 pages in length.
For this week, follow these prompts to guide your discussion and your synthesis. Please make sure to include specific concepts from the course readings in your reflection.
1. Analyze and discuss your level of cultural competence. What do you need to pay attention to as you work together in your new team?
2. Analyze your respective leadership styles among your team members. What are your respective styles? Who is better at managing tasks? Relational dynamics? What do you need to pay attention to as you work together as a team?
