An escape artist is chained and placed in a 1 m x 1 m x 2 m box in which one side is hinged at the top of the box. The box is lowered into water until the top surface is just below the water surface. At that point, an 8 cm diameter hole is opened 0.75 m from the top of the box and the box begins to fill with water. If the escape artist can produce 1000 N of force at the bottom of the door, how long does he have to get out of his chains before he can open the door?
