I have problem with 3D vision puzzles too. They make my eyes tired. I also cannot see the image behind the surface in some puzzles.

It is very interesting that vision works both ways. Our vision works from eyes to brain as well as from brain to eyes. What I mean by this statement? Expectations change the vision. According to your expectation, your vision directs to one direction instead of other directions. For instance, imagine you are in city and you are hungry. You are looking for pizza restaurant but you cannot find one. When you get more and more hungry, you change your mind. This time, you are looking for a fast food restaurant and going back to the first point where you started. When you go back, you notice that you have already past a Chinese restaurant in the corner. You say yourself 'chinese food is one of my favorite kitchen' and you walk into Chinese restaurant. At first, because of you want to eat pizza, your eyes missed the Chinese restaurant. When you change your mind about what to eat, your perceptions are changed accordingly. When you decided to eat fast food, unconsciously, you said yourself "it can be any food since I couldn't find a pizza restaurant". Little while later you notice the Chinese food even if you were looking for a fast food restaurant. Your perceptions opened to any possibility since your focus (pizza) changed (to any food). Imagine when you sit in Chinese restaurant you see a Subway at the cross street and you say yourself "I also could have eat sandwich, how couldn't I notice that place?"

If you sad and unhappy, you may see many happy people around you. If you own an old car, your vision fills with many newer cars during the day. If you sick you may see many energetic and laughing people. If you are late to work, you see others who drinking their coffee in Starbucks or shopping. If you want to eat ice cream and your friend does not want any ice cream, you will be the first one to recognize ice cream truck or hear its music.

It is good to know that amblyopia can only be treatable until age of ten. I think amblyopia disorder is not about eye muscles but the connection from the eye to the brain. Children who have vision impairments may develop inferiority feelings. As in your example, if the children have difficulty to learning to read because of he or she has blur vision, it is certain that this may influence his or her psychology negatively.
