Persuasive Essay Outline

Attention Getter: Legally a woman has the “right” to choose whether or not her child lives or dies, but what about the baby? Doesn’t the baby have a say? The second a woman has the intuition that they are pregnant, that is the second they become a mother, and how could a woman kill their child?

Thesis/ Layout: Women who get abortions are judged on the daily, but 75% of the time, their stories are not even heard; whether it was a result of their irresponsible decision or if they were raped, viewing this particular subject can be discussed with the following:

Background Information: Statistically, 71% of American teenagers become sexually active by the age of nineteen. That being said, would having an abortion clinic available right on a high school campus be seen as positive or negative? "Absolutely negative!" is what is hoped to be the common answer, but clearly Americans don't have a say on where these abortion clinics are built, because this school already exist, at Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, CA. Young ladies can go into this clinic at any given time during normal school hours to get an abortion! It is situations like these that can strongly provoke young teens to be sexually active seeing that they have the available resources to eliminate the fetus that could have been prevented to begin with.

Topic Sentence 1:

Pro Side Argument 1: Although there are many strong reasons supporting abortion as it’s related to children who are conceived by rape or incest, most of the time we are in no position to judge these women.

Transition: By chance if a woman who is very irresponsible and is on her 12th abortion, it can be believed that this is time where we can indeed judge.

Against Side Argument 1: Factually, having an abortion is more dangerous than childbirth.

Topic Sentence 2:

Pro Side Argument 2: Since the moral standards of Americans are evolving, abortions are becoming more and more justified.

Transition: Although abortions have decreased by 5%, it should still be considered that there are still 1.21 million abortions taking place in the U.S.

Against side argument 2:  Considering American ethics and values, death is morally wrong. Therefore, the killing of an unborn fetus is morally wrong as well.

Transition Sentence: The fact that That many lives’s are being taken a year can be mind bogolling the one has their morals in their daily life but consider the following: rape.

Topic Sentence 3: In America, a woman is raped every 2 minutes.

Pro side Argument 3: With that thought in mind, the act of getting an abortion could not be frowned upon.

Against Side Argument 3:  The 8 week unborn baby feels real physical pain during an abortion.

Conclusion: It could be said that viewing the pros and con’s of abortion have been reviewed. Mind the fact that there is more con’s than pros picture oneself feeling the pain of being sucked into a small vacuum. Americans should take the stand to revolt the law of abortions. This being said, there can be so many other preventative ways to avoid getting an abortion.
